Mansour Nasrollahzadeh
Managing Director and Founder

Mansour Nasrollahzadeh is a highly skilled mining engineer and entrepreneur, equipped with over ten years industry experience and a Master of Mining Engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology – Tehran Polytechnic.
His roles across open cut and underground mine sites in Australia have enriched Mansour with a wealth of knowledge in the resources sector. Mansour has obtained the statutory certificate of open cut examiner, which illustrates his thorough understanding of legislation and safe practice in the mining industry.
Mansour specialises in: Mine planning, including tactical and strategic planning, through seam mining, scheduling, design, process optimisation, feasibility study, reconciliation, truck and haulage modelling. Drill and Blast, including design, loading and timing plan, constraints management, through seam blasting, hot hole blasting and process optimisation.
After a decade in the mining industry, Mansour decided to found Atlantech to provide first class mining engineering services to every client to whom quality matters.

Jason Desmond
Director and Environmental Lead

Jason Desmond is a passionate environmental professional and leader with over 15 years industry experience and a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management from the University of Newcastle.
Jason has previously worked across several open-cut coal and metalliferous mine sites within Australia. This has included working as a consultant, mining supervisory positions as well as site-based environmental roles ranging from Environment & Community Officer through to Environment & Community Manager leading a team.
Jason has experience in Project Approvals, Management Plans, Mining Operations Plan, Rehabilitation monitoring, site compliance, life-of-mine and budget planning, reporting (Annual Reviews, Annual Returns, non-compliance) mine closure, auditing, government and community liaison as well as mentoring of many students / undergraduate / graduates. He possesses an environmental auditors' certification as well as statutory certificate of open cut examiner.
Jason is passionate about supporting clients in the mining industry whilst leveraging off his vast prior experience.

Guy Simpson
Technical Services Manager

Guy Simpson is an industry leader with a remarkable 30 years' global experience in both underground and open-pit mining from an operational and technical perspective. Guy also has extensive management experience, including roles as General Manager of Operations at Barto Gold (Minjar) and Blackham Resources, Open Pit Manager at Blackham Resources, Manager Mine Optimisation at Cudeco Limited, General Manager of Operations at Veris Gold, and Underground Projects Manager at Harmony Australia.
Guy has previously held senior positions in technical services, including roles such as Group Mining Engineer for Resolute Mining and GM Technical Services for Norton Goldfields. His contributions in these positions were instrumental in improving client satisfaction and streamlining processes. Guy also made a significant impact as a Principal Mining Consultant with Rapallo Engineers, where he played a pivotal role in building the mining engineering division from the ground up.
This wealth of knowledge and experience showcase Guy's ability to lead and grow divisions within the mining industry and is vital to Atlantech as we extend our footprint into Western Australia and expand our services to adapt to the evolving needs of our clients.

Ross Heath
Manager, Mining Operations

Ross Heath is a respected industry leader with over 40 years of experience in open-cut mining, gained through diverse technical and operational roles across Australia.
Ross began his career in 1981 as a Survey Assistant before earning his Coal Mine Surveyor qualification in 1984 and Open Cut Examiner (OCE) qualification in 1990. Over the next two decades, he held multiple roles as an OCE, Mining Superintendent, and Pit Services Supervisor across several mining operations.
In 2011, Ross obtained his Mining Engineering Manager (MEM) ticket and has since served as an MEM and Principal’s Representative, overseeing operations with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and team development.
Ross brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Atlantech, strengthening our capability in mining operations. As our new Manager of Mining Operations, he will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, mentoring the next generation of supervisors and managers, and delivering high-value solutions to our clients.
Throughout his career, Ross has found the most rewarding aspects to be improving operational safety, mentoring colleagues in their career growth, and connecting with so many great people over the years.
Outside of work, Ross enjoys spending time with family, travelling the world, playing golf, staying active, keeping up with current affairs, and indulging his passion for cricket.

Nerida Manley
Principal Environmental Consultant

Nerida Manley is a highly skilled and passionate environmental professional, with over 15 years of operational experience within the coal industry, equipped with a Masters of Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management from the University of Newcastle.
With extensive practical operational experience and knowledge through employment in the coal mining industry, her career has involved a strong regulatory and community engagement focus. Nerida believes that a highlight of her experience to date has been working alongside the local community and creating positive relations with industry.
Nerida has extensive experience in site and project management, mine closure planning, data management, compliance management and reporting, environmental management systems and plans, risk assessments, internal and external auditing, water management, contractor management and stakeholder engagement.
Her key strengths involve a compliance focus to environmental legislation and adhering to the requirements of Environmental Licence and Consent requirements along with the day to day running at operational mine sites.
Nerida says that her hobbies are fairly kids sports orientated these days. She is a proud soccer mum and she enjoys adventure bush walks with her family on the weekend.

Jean-Francois St-Onge
Principal Mining Engineer

Jean-Francois is an accomplished mining engineering leader with over 30 years' global industry experience in both underground and open-pit mining. Combining operational proficiency with consulting expertise, he is recognised as an innovative problem-solver, committed to delivering solutions to complex challenges while championing mine-to-mill strategic planning and integrated optimisation processes.
Dedicated to maximising the value of mining assets through holistic site-level optimisation, breaking down silos, and fostering synergy across disciplines, Jean-Francois is a strong advocate for collaborative team structures, with a proven ability to mentor and nurture the next generation of talent and ensure improved workflow efficiency, enhanced quality of results, and seamless integration between engineering disciplines.
Jean-Francois is passionate about safe and environmentally responsible engineering practices, ensuring alignment with permitting requirements and community expectations. This approach facilitates smooth project initiation, efficient study transitions, and lower development risks, paving the way for successful project execution.
Outside of work, he is passionate about maintaining an active lifestyle and embracing the outdoors. Whether on the tennis court, out sailing, exploring scenic routes on his bike, or enjoying a round of golf, Jean-Francois thrives on activities that challenge both mind and body.

Tiju Thomas
Senior Drill and Blast Engineer

Tiju Thomas has accumulated an abundance of experience working on a diverse range of projects across the globe as a mining engineer since 1995, with a particular passion for drill and blast engineering. He is armed with 29 years in the mining industry and a Bachelor and Master of Science - Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In addition, Tiju has a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (South Africa) and is a published author of multiple industry papers and publications.
Tiju specialises in: Drill and Blast planning, the best and latest blasting techniques and technologies, computer aided design using relevant software packages, project management, blast monitoring, investigations, audits and consulting services, and much more.
As a blasting enthusiast, Tiju delivers a high quality and practical product, while using the resources available to continually improve on the tools and processes in place. His goal is to use his extensive experience in collaboration with his technical ability to build trust and integrity amongst crews. He believes in working as a team to deliver a more cost effective and operationally efficient outcome.

Hannah Lumsden
Senior Environmental Consultant

Hannah Lumsden is a passionate environmental professional with over 10 years industry experience and a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management from the University of Newcastle.
She has gained extensive environmental management experience as well as notable exposure across a wide array of coal mining departments and areas such as production, coal and logistics, blasting, human resources and people management, as well as involvement in business planning.
Hannah has actively sought a wider exposure to other coal mining operations, with the aim to gain knowledge and learnings about the challenges, as well as environmental practices and methodologies that she will bring to her role at Atlantech.
Living with her husband on a small farm, Hannah enjoys spending her free time being outdoors with their two young sons. Her husband is also an employee within the mining industry in the Hunter Valley.

Dean Woods
Senior Environmental Consultant

Dean Woods is a highly motivated and qualified environmental professional with experience in environmental management within the mining industry and local government.
With a thorough understanding of NSW environmental and planning legislation, Dean has considerable knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of environmental systems including mine site rehabilitation programs.
Armed with a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Land and Water) and a Graduate Certificate in Business from Charles Sturt University, as well as over 8 years industry experience, Dean is a welcome addition to the Atlantech team.
For leisure, Dean thoroughly enjoys spending quality time with his family, regularly exploring new places together and an occasional game of golf where he can find the time.

Marck Maramat
Senior Mining Engineer

Marck Maramat is a highly knowledgeable and dynamic Senior Mining Engineer with 12 years’ experience across a diverse range of projects and operations in Australia and the Philippines. He graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a Bachelor of Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering in 2012.
In his most recent role as Senior Mining Engineer in Perth, Marck specialised in project management and delivery of mining technical studies at conceptual, scoping, and pre-feasibility level spanning mining model creation, pit optimisation, pit and dump designs, mine planning, mine scheduling, cost modeling, and technical report writing.
Marck thoroughly enjoys giving back to the profession through training and mentoring of team members and has a wealth of experience with mining engineering software suites, including Surpac, Minesched, Whittle, Datamine NPV Scheduler, Studio OP, Deswik, and CAD.
Outside of work, Marck loves watching sports (basketball, footy, NFL, and tennis in particular). He plays basketball at least once a week and also goes to the gym on most weekdays to lift weights. Lastly, Marck enjoys traveling the world with his family.

Kieran Stephenson-Banks
Senior Environmental Consultant

Kieran Stephenson-Branks is an enthusiastic senior environmental consultant who specialises in ecology, environmental management, and data analysis.
Armed with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management, majoring in Conservation Ecology from Charles Sturt University, Kieran has several years of industry experience working as an ecological consultant and roles at various mine sites as part of the environmental and community teams.
His work has exposed him to many aspects of ecology and environmental management, with a focus on biodiversity assessments as part of large developments, mine rehabilitation monitoring, rehabilitation of mining operations to native ecosystems, environmental monitoring, and NSW legislation.
Kieran is passionate about native Australian ecology, restoring degraded ecosystems, conservation management, and working with organisations to improve environmental outcomes. Through his knowledge of reporting and data analysis, he has improved monitoring programs and streamlined environmental reporting processes using automation.
In terms of interests and hobbies, Kieran is currently undertaking an honours research project that focuses on machine learning and artificial intelligence as tools for monitoring bird populations. In his free time between work and studies, he enjoys travelling, hiking, camping, watching AFL, and learning more about native flora and fauna.

Nathan Dunstan
Senior Mining Engineer

Nathan Dunstan is a motivated senior mining project engineer with several years of expertise in mechanical and mining engineering, a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Mining) from the University of Wollongong, a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, and a Graduate Certificate in Finance from Griffith University.
Excelling in strategic planning, project management, and contractor oversight, Nathan demonstrates strong analytical skills in equipment strategy, cost-benefit analysis, and driving efficiency and innovation in mining operations.
Nathan is passionate about project delivery, with a proven track record in delivering projects exceeding $30 million in value, and is known for effective contractor management and driving successful outcomes in complex mining operations.
He seeks to continuously challenge himself with interesting projects while leading a team of high achievers who deliver value within the mining industry. Nathan strives to consistently develop himself and others and maintain good stakeholder relationships.
In his free time, Nathan enjoys travelling the world and is an avid snowboarder, although he believes there is still room for improvement on the slopes. He also enjoys tinkering with all things mechanical.

Nina Rotton
Environmental Consultant

Nina Rotton is a highly motivated and innovative environmental professional, armed with three years' industry experience and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waikato in Aotearoa New Zealand, majoring in Ecology, Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences.
Having previously worked as a Graduate Environmental Scientist at global engineering consultancy GHD, Nina helped contribute to an extensive service line in contamination and remediation across Northern NSW. Her client project experience had a strong focus in monitoring and reporting on environmental changes and emerging contaminants in both water and soil spaces.
Prior to this, Nina was a Laboratory Technician at biotechnology research and testing solutions provider Analytica Laboratories for eighteen months while completing her degree in Waikato.
Nina’s hobbies and interests include keeping active everyday with her two large dogs at the local park, taking advantage of Newcastle's dog beaches, and finding new places to camp or visit on the weekends.
She also loves spending time with her family and friends in Newcastle or keeping in touch with those in New Zealand and Tasmania.

Jonathan Kool
Environmental Consultant

Jonathan Kool is a proactive and enthusiastic environmental professional, who graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in January 2021.
His Class 1 Honours Project involved research conducted at the University of Newcastle and The Hunter Water Corporation and is entitled "Distribution and ecology of Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) within the Williams River Catchment: Implications for drinking water supply".
Jonathan’s experience includes site secondments across several NSW mine sites, as well as experience supporting our clients with rehabilitation, buffer lands and biodiversity offset surveys, annual monitoring and reporting. He also has experience in pre-clearing ecological inspections as well as Fauna Spotter Catching during clearing works. In his time at Atlantech, Jonathan has progressed to Environmental Consultant after the successful completion of the Graduate Program.
For leisure, Jonathan enjoys caring for his property, which includes decorative and edible gardens, tending to his aquariums, collecting antique items, and spending time with family over a BBQ.

Joshua Pawson
Graduate Environmental Consultant

Joshua Pawson is a keen environmental professional who graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Environmental Science in mid-2023, with specialisations in Applied Earth Sciences.
Joshua has a special interest in geographic information systems (GIS), mine site rehabilitation and contaminated land remediation after completing several subjects in these areas with distinction.
Joshua’s work history has included working with geo-technicians to carry out field sampling and testing. This included maintaining laboratory equipment to Australian standards, as well as Roads and Maritime Services standards.
Outside of work Joshua’s interests include woodwork, Formula One, touch football and soccer.

Emma Murray
Administrative Assistant

Emma Murray is an experienced administrative professional with a background in the real estate property market.
With clear communication skills and a welcoming personality, Emma brings a diligent and motivated work ethic, great organisational skills and computer literacy to her new role at Atlantech.
Armed with a Diploma in Business Administration and experience as a small business owner, Emma excels at prioritising and completing multiple tasks simultaneously, while following through to achieve project goals.
As a mother of two young children, and with an adventurous partner, Emma's family's activities revolve around travelling in their caravan, riding their mountain bikes, and enjoying beach outings.

Joshua Rochford
Graduate Mining Engineer

Joshua Rochford is a mining engineer with a passion for the industry and a solid foundation in the principles and practices of mining operations after graduating from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering in 2024.
Armed with a strong interest in mine design as well as drill, blast, and timing techniques, Joshua combines analytical problem-solving with practical, hands-on applications. He takes pride in utilising industry-leading tools such as Deswik, which has enabled him to plan and design hypothetical mines.
Joshua's interest in this field was further developed through hands-on experience, where he contributed to creating charge and timing plans for an underground gold mine. He also had the opportunity to join the emergency response team to stay active and gain valuable training. This opportunity allowed him to apply his skills in a real-world setting and gain extensive insights into mining operations.
Outside of work, Joshua enjoys staying active by going to the gym and playing AFL football. He also spends his free time playing board games with his friends and learning to play the guitar.

Sarah de Wet
Graduate Environmental Consultant

Sarah de Wet is an environmental professional with a focus on sustainability and a passion for conservation and waste management who graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management: Sustainability with distinction in 2024.
A confident communicator, Sarah is experienced in rehabilitation and sustainability efforts across multiple fields. She is committed to hands-on conservation work that has a lasting impact, and is dedicated to leveraging her skills and expertise to actively promote sustainable environmental practices and contribute to the preservation of our natural environment.
While at university, Sarah was involved in the Women in STEM Mentoring Program in 2023 and travelled to Borneo for their environmental tour in 2022. Her work experience includes three months as an environmental vacation student at Rix's Creek Mine in Singleton, assisting the Sustainability Officer at Brokenwood Winery, and volunteering as a food rescuer with Slow Food Hunter Valley between 2018 and 2023.
Outside of work, Sarah’s interests include piano, music, netball, and running.
